Tjórnedala Konsthall

The exhibition is part of Beste Biennale arranged every 2 years.

The Yellow Wall: The ceramic works of Bjørgan consists of juicy colours and voloptuos shapes that give way to sensuality and references to the body. These unique works are made of deformed and deconstructed handthrown cylinder shapes and plaster molds of consolles taken from the Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim. All traces of skills are erased through an experimental method that parts with established rules in order to explore new techniques and effects.

The Yellow wall is inspired by the Zwinger Palace in Dresden that was established in 1709 which consists of large amounts of imported oriental porcelain. Bjørgans project is an investigation into the value of the incomplete and imperfect. The work erases the boundaries between the object and the consoll as carrier to the object, perfection and uniformity is replaced by an individual sculptural body of work where mistakes and flawes contributes to the uniqueness.
