The Ceramic Object featured works by prominent Nordic and British artists specializing in the field of ceramics. The curatorial aim was to show the superlative artistic quality and great breadth within this field of art.
Excerp from exhibition text: "Heidi Bjørgan is a central figure in the field of contemporary Norwegian craft. She has been a board member of various special-interest organizations for artists and has curated several exhibitions. One starting point for her art is the type of object we overlook or disregard, something that has been thrown out or ends up in a rummage sale. Bjørgan gives such objects a second chance by revitalizing them, changing their context and sometimes giving them a new function. There is great potential in applying traditional handicraft to mass-produced objects, and it is this the artist explores. Her works have been purchased by Norway's main applied arts museums and by the Victoria & Albert Museum in London."
